Frequently asked questions
Just like with a mobile phone, the charge time depends on the battery charge level when you start charging the device. If the battery is almost full when charging starts, it may only take a few minutes to top off. If the battery is completely flat, it will take less than 2 hours to fully charge.
2. How often should I charge FitCheck?
The FitCheck has a typical battery life of 8+ hours per charge. This will allow for many seal checks to be performed. If you are using the FitCheck regularly, We would recommend that you charge it at least once each week.
3. What do the light color patterns mean?
- Flashing Green = Powering up
- Solid Blue = Bluetooth has been paired
- Blinking Purple = Ready to test
- Flashing Purple = Over breath
- Solid Purple = Test in Progress
- Blinking Red = Fail
- Solid Green = Pass
- Rapid Flashing Purple (During Test) = Over-breath
4. How do I download all the tests?
- Computer: When connected to your PC, the software will download all the new tests since the last download.
- Smart Phone: When connecting to your smart phone, the phone will download only the previous 16 tests
5. Is the FitCheck to be used in place of a fit tester?
No. The FitCheck makes sure that the mask has a good seal to your face at the time of the donning. This method is for safety in the moment and does not fulfil the annual fit testing requirements.
6. When connecting to my PC or app, how do I know which device I should select?
Look at the front of the FitCheck and you will see a serial number. On the computer, select the device with the matching serial number.
7. How do I set up the Bluetooth?
(Applies only to the FitCheck Bluetooth model QCK 1000-02)
- Computer: When pairing to a computer, you will need to pair using the Bluetooth connection setting on the computer before opening the FitCheck Application to then connect the device to the app.
- Smart Phone: On your smart phone the application will connect much like any typical Bluetooth device.
8. Sometimes when I press on the FitCheck, why doesn’t the test start?
Pressing on the FitCheck closes the air flow so that it’s airtight. The test doesn’t start until a negative pressure is drawn and held in the respirator after the FitCheck is pressed closed.
9. Why doesn’t my battery seem to charge?
The battery maybe damaged or expired and you’ll need to replace it.
10. What if my device will not power on?
Re-charge battery using the supplied cable and a USB charger
11. What does it mean when there is a flashing red light after Initialization?
The flashing red light would indicate a sensor failure. Re-start device or replace device if error continues.
12. What if the device LED lights do not appear during operation?
You will need to re-start device
13. What do I do if the FitCheck will not connect to my phone or computer?
- Check that Windows Bluetooth connection and Location services are active on your mobile phone and re-start your FitCheck device
- Something else might be paired to the device like your computer or phone

15. What do I do when there is a failed test?
- Wait for LED indicator to flash purple signaling for a retest of the fit check.
- With multiple failures check the mask for integrity issues, seal issues and confirm FitCheck is properly attached to the mask
16. What if the check won’t begin?
You will need to re-start your device off mask in ambient air
